GANODERMA & DISEASES RESEARCH OF OIL PALM UNIT (GanoDROP)

Background

GanoDROP stands for Ganoderma and Diseases Research for Oil Palm. The unit was established in 2011, and was formerly known as Plant Pathology and Weed Science (PPWS) Group, Plant Protection Unit, Biology Research Division.

Vision

To be the key research centre or reference hub on oil palm diseases with particular emphasis on Ganoderma disease, other oil palm diseases in Malaysia and research on exotic diseases to Malaysia & South East Asia Region.

Mission

To spearhead oil palm diseases research programmes by providing technical and scientific expertise for disease management and creating efficient advisory network to the industry in order to increase productivity and decrease yield losses.
