Soil Microbial Biodiversity and Function Group

1. Monitoring time-course peat underground biodiversity and functions under oil palm, particularly in matured oil palm using the latest state of the art.
2. Establishing a library of bacterial strains and database from microbes collected from deep peat.
3. Determining the roles of microbes and correlate the microbial diversity on nutrients mobilization and emission of greenhouse gases (GHG).
4. Screening potential microbes with biofertilizing and bioprotecting properties.
5. Developing mass production facilities and formulation technologies of biofertilizer for uptake and adoption by the industry.
